
13 hearty types from the Upper and Middle Potomac Tributary Strategy Teams braved a very cool, cloudy, and windy June day to paddle the Potomac River. Put-in was in the 'gut,' the local name given to a small inlet next to a tiny island under the Rt. 17 bridge in Brunswick, Maryland. |

A leisurely paddle was accelerated by a tailwind pushing the canoers and kayakers downstream 7 miles to Point of Rocks.

A detour was taken up Catoctin Creek to view the crumbling Catoctin Aqueduct, the focus of current restoration initiatives by several entities. |

Along the way, paddlers had the opportunity to ponder the importance of livestock fencing...
