The Woods in Your Backyard -
Learning to Create and Enhance
Natural Areas Around Your Home

_____________________________________________

The Potomac Conservancy, in partnership with the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service will be offering a three session evening training to small lot landowners during Spring 2009. This training will focus on the practical application of the tools provided to landowners in the publication The Woods in Your Backyard.

The Woods in Your Backyard was developed to help landowners with up to 10 acres of land to make decisions that impact water, wildlife, recreation, and forest health. The publication helps to promote stewardship of 1-10 acre parcels of land that are forested, have unmowed natural areas, or where the landowner would like to convert currently mowed land into a natural or forested area. Click here for more information on The Woods in Your Backyard.

The training date, time, and location will be finalized in early 2009 so make sure to check back for more information on registration.
