Our new Sanctuary Nature Walk series got off to a great start with September's Butterfly walk, October's Fall Migration walk, and November's Late Fall Migration walk already completed.
December is "Holiday Break" month, but we'll be kicking off the 2009 schedule on Saturday, January 17th, 9-11 AM, once again at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary near Mount Airy. January's topic is "Winter Wildlife".
Even with frigid air, snow and frozen ground, wildlife is still out and about and interesting to observe, if you know where to look. (Hint: we can help.)
A brisk January hike at the sanctuary will surely help you beat the winter blahs! (Be sure to dress warmly, and if you have binoculars, be sure to bring them along!)
ASCM Member Hal Pazourek will lead this walk. Hal is a longtime volunteer at the Audrey Carroll sanctuary, and he's looking forward to sharing his extensive knowledge and experience there with Nature Walk participants.
For more information, send an email to Hal.
You'll find directions and maps to our Audubon Sanctuaries, plus more information on our Nature Walk schedule, by clicking here. We hope you'll be able to join us for all of these events!
