Nature Fest: Fountain Rock Park
_______________________________________________________
If you and your family and friends love interacting with nature, wetting a line and catching a fish, meeting and petting some farm animals, learning how bees make and store honey, taste some excellent local organic food, meet some critters introduced by the 4-H Bug Patrol and all manner of other interesting activities, plan to come to the Fountain Rock Nature Center in Walkersville to its Nature Fest on Saturday, May 30th from 10 am until 4 pm. The Center is located at 8516 Fountain Rock Court (now called 8511 Nature Center Place) in Walkersville.
The theme for the event is “Back to Our Roots, Nature & History at Fountain Rock Park”. Many exhibitors and volunteers will help make the theme come alive at the County’s Nature Center and park. Local environmental and historical organizations, exhibitors, vendors and crafters will participate. You’re likely to learn something, have a lot of fun, and deepen your appreciation of the natural world in the process.
The park has completed its final phase of construction with a new entrance, a large shelter, handicap accessible pathways throughout the park, and more. For additional information, call Alice Nemitsas, Park Naturalist at 301.898.1760 or anemitsas@fredco-md.net. Click here for a flyer.
