Helpful Hints for New Users for the
Monocacy & Catoctin Watershed Alliance
Landowner Network

If you would like to join this group, new members are required to register for a Yahoo ID and password if you don’t already have one. If you already have a Yahoo ID and password, please skip down to step B.

A. To register for a Yahoo ID and password:

  1. Click the Landowner Network homepage link below.
    Landowner Network homepage: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/watershedalliance

  2. Click the “Join this Group” button. You will be prompted to enter your Yahoo ID and password. If you don’t already have one, please click “Sign Up”.

  3. You will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire that will allow you to choose an ID (ex: jsmith) and a password. A window will open confirming your successful registration and will create a Yahoo account with the email address YahooID@yahoo.com (ex: jsmith@yahoo.com). This will be the default email address for the Landowner Network.

B. To join the Landowner Network once you have a Yahoo ID and password:

  1. Click the Landowner Network homepage link below.

  2. Click “Join this Group”

  3. Enter your new Yahoo ID and password.

  4. A window will open that will allow you to create settings for your membership to the group. The default email address will be the one that you just created (YahooID@yahoo.com). If you would like to use an alternate email address, click “add new address”. Once you have entered and verified the alternate email address, select that email address for correspondence.

  5. You will also have the option to decide how you would like to receive postings made on this site. The default setting is “Individual Emails”. With this setting, you will receive an individual email every time a new message is posted on the Landowner Network. We recommend setting the message delivery method to either “Daily Digest” or “Web Only”. The “Daily Digest” will compile all the postings for that day into one email at the end of the day. You will not receive any emails if you choose the “Web Only” feature. You will have to go directly to the Landowner Network page to read any new postings.

C. Changing your membership preferences at a later time:

If at anytime you would like to change your membership settings, click “Edit Membership” just above the brown Landowner Network title bar.
