Volunteers Needed for Park Tree Planting!

Volunteers needed for a tree seedling planting event at Old National Pike Park on Saturday, April 9, 2011!
                           
Frederick County’s Division of Parks and Recreation is looking for volunteers to assist in planting 5 acres of seedlings at Old National Pike Park (12406 Old National Pike Mt. Airy, MD 21771) on Saturday, April 9 from 9am to 12pm. Water and a limited number of tools will be provided; volunteers are asked to bring additional tools, gloves, and snacks (if needed).  This event is a good opportunity for students, scout troops, and other community members to help enhance a local park to benefit water quality and wildlife, while also potentially earning volunteer hours, service-learning credit, and more.
