___________________________________________

A final "Total Maximum Daily Load of Sediment in the Lower Monocacy River Watershed, Frederick, Carroll, and Montgomery Counties, Maryland" and final "Total Maximum Daily Load of Sediment in the Catoctin Creek Watershed, Frederick County, Maryland" have been approved by EPA Region 3.

Approved final TMDL documents are available on the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) TMDL website at www.mde.state.md.us/tmdl, along with response documents addressing comments received during the public comment period for the draft TMDL.

Please contact Jeff White at 410-537-3884 if you have any questions regarding this matter.

In addition, EPA has developed a new Web site to communicate information about Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Program results to technically specialized audiences, including TMDL developers, state water programs, academia, other federal agency programs, and EPA water quality staff.  The TMDL Program Results Analysis Project is a multi-year effort directed at measuring and analyzing programmatic and environmental results of the program.

The Web site provides a Clean Water Act Impaired Waters Program Pipeline
navigation feature, fact sheets, EPA reports and Web sites, EPA grantee
reports and Web sites, publications, and datasets related to this
effort.

The TMDL Program Results Analysis Web site is available at
